Papua New Guinea Wheat Starch Processing

TTC Group provides wheat starch & gluten production processes, mainly including Martin's method and three-phase conch separation method. Martin method has the advantages of small scale, less investment, low energy consumption, flexible start &stop and the low demand for flour quality. At the same time, there are relatively high water consumption, more labor and poor production environment shortcomings. It is more suitable for small-scale batch production. The three-phase conch separation method is characterized by good production continuity, stable product quality and low water consumption. However, the initial investment is relatively large. It is more suitable for large-scale continuous production. The three-phase recumbent screw separation processing technology provided by TTC Group as the following.

Adopting advanced three-phase conch separation process, it can produce wheat starch and gluten by using back-road flour or through-flour from flourmills. Its main production equipment are followings: pasta machine, three-phase decanter, gravity-curved sieve, spiral extruder, annular air dryer, centrifugal sieve, cyclone station and airflow dryer.

Kneading dough & Separation:
The flour mixed with a certain percentage of water and turned into a dough. The dough is processed by the homogenizer .Then it is sent to the three-phase decanter for separation. The heavy phase material A starch/fiber, the medium phase material B starch/gluten and the light phase pentosane were then separated.

Gluten washing and dewatering:
The gluten obtained after separation separates the B starch through sieving. The separated gluten is washed several times. Then it dewatered in a screw extruder to prepare for the subsequent drying of gluten.

Gluten drying:
Dewatered gluten is dried in an annular air dryer. After the ultra-micro-mill grinding, to reach the national standards of fineness. The finished product is gluten powder.

First, the heavy phase separated by the three-phase decanter is mixed with the sieved material after separating the gluten. After sieving to remove fibers, a mixture of A starch, B starch and a small amount of C starch is obtained. It is then separated by a disk centrifuge to obtain A starch and large particles of B starch from the underflow. Finally, after washing and refining in the cyclone station and centrifugal dehydration. It enters into the airflow dryer for drying to get the commodity A starch.

The top stream separated by the disk centrifuge was small particles of B starch and a small amount of C starch. Depending on customer’s requirements, it could be washed, dehydrated and dried to obtain the finished product of B starch. Alternatively, it is mixed with pentosan, the light phase of the three-phase reclining snail for producing alcohol by fermentation.
